Posterous feedback

2 setting pages: 

I was confused, but many persons can on the feature, I thought this:
If you click on Manage (http://posterous.com/people/edit... .) you can edit many things about your account, but, in my case, I didn`t find in this page the subtitle (my subtitle is right now "Lo mejor que recibo en mi bandeja de correo"... on this page you can edit only the name of the blog... then, after many clicks (so many) I could finf other settings page (http://posterous.com/site/editsite... ) with the subtitle edit option.

The confusion occurs because the first link named "Manage" was opened from my blog... then I thought I was open the settings of my blog and not the settings of my account; I suggest you recall that link: "Account" instead "Manage" or "Manage your account" instead "Manage".

you can't put adsense. we don't allow javascript

Posterous - feedback

The settings are on two different pages... that `s not friendly.

I don`t know if I can put Adsense on my template; I tried, but I don`t view any change. I read you are thinking in customization, then, I thought the templates were not editable, but they are... some users are inclusing images on their Posterous blogs. You shoud publish that the template can be edited using html.

I see Posterous can be a Tumblr killer, a perfect blog plataform.

Try to connect more on your Twitter account; I sent feedback there.

Setting up a custom domain

Make it your with your own .com

You can set up a custom domain using Posterous. Here's the skinny:

  1. Find a domain you like using Instant Domain Search. Most great domain names are taken, but there are a few gems out there left yet.
  2. Register your domain using Go Daddy or register.com. This should usually cost about $10 per year. Avoid the extra fees around website hosting, and other services. All you need is a Domain Name Registration, probably for the period of 2 years.
    Using GoDaddy? See below for some additional screenshots of how to configure your domain.
  3. Create an A record from the desired internet address to the following IP address hosted by Posterous: 67.207.139.81
  4. Click Manage » Edit Site to set your custom domain to www.yourdomain.com.
  5. You're done!
GoDaddy DNS setup, step-by-step

First, register an account and your desired domain name on GoDaddy. The tricky part is in setting up the correct values in the system. Here's how to do it:

  1. From the main account page, click Domains » My Domains.
  2. Then, click on the domain name you just registered.
  3. Click Total DNS Control and MX records. Be sure to switch off forwarding as it will cause problems with your setup.
  4. With a fresh setup, your screen should now look like this, with no A records. If there are existing ones, you may have to delete them, or be sure to handle any conflicts intelligently. Click Add A New A Record.
  5. Enter @ for the hostname and 67.207.139.81 for the IP Address. Then click OK.
  6. Your setup should now look like this. If you had a previous setup beforehand, you may need to wait as long as the previous setting for TTL (Time to Live) from Step 5.
